The founding principle behind the decision to request a sister chapter of the Social Media Club was simple. To provide a convenient venue, foster a desire to learn, build the need for fellowship with like-minded business professionals and do it all under the binding tie that is social media.

Free membership to the Social Media Club can be obtained by visiting www.smcjoco.com and all are welcome to post comments, build a profile and begin networking with other business and social media professionals. Words by Laura Wynn

I am amazed that I still get asked this question at every networking function I attend!  Maybe it’s because I’m a freelance writer and saw this wave of outsourced writing increase in popularity since the late 80′s and early 90′s when journals, tabloids and other forms of print media became increasingly popular.  I mean, come on; did you REALLY think that busy researchers and physicians were working overtime to develop journal entries and online information? Really?

Here’s the concept of ghost blogging in a proverbial nutshell…

I write it; you take the credit.   You pay me, I go away.

Ghost Blogs (articles) are most generally used for blogsites, website content and submission to online group forums, newsletters and direct mail. The body of your written piece includes a variety of strategically placed key/search terms for enhanced searchability. You provide the topic or I will provide possible ideas that are appropriate for the audience you are seeking.

Why hire someone else to write on your area of expertise?  Well, better written by someone else than by nobody at all!

The most common complaint I hear from my clients is that they are too busy running their business to focus on maintaining their reputation as an expert.  Suppose you were able to outsource the most important focus of your business: your perceived expertise. Suppose, again, that you could maintain a blogsite, social media accounts and other forms of communication with one piece of information that is easily tweaked to fit various formats?

You, my friend, have just discovered ghost blogging.
