Writer
Writing is an outlet for me. Though it took me years to allow myself to enjoy writing for my own benefit, others have cried, giggled and learned from my works since I first began to form words onto paper.
My first composition to gain public attention was a craftily worded paper depicting an automobile accident at age 16. Complete with descriptive thought, smell, sounds and mood, it was through this submission that I learned from experts that I was blessed with a tool that if used properly would allow me to educate, entertain and inform the world through words.
I sharpened this tool through studies in English Literature, Shakespearean History and Journalism courses. I was so anxious to begin my college level academics in writing that I convinced my parents to let me “test out” of high school level English to begin courses at Johnson County Community College during my Senior year of high school.
I continued this passion while discovering a new one; college level basketball, at the University of Kansas.
My daily workload consists of writing press and news releases, feature stories, blogs and content. I regularly allow myself a long, lazy bath complete with bubbles, an old fashioned pad of lined paper and a #2 pencil. This is when my thoughts flow, reflections begin and life supreme is realized.
